As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Markets - Prime Finance Services, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Lead and mentor junior software engineers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and career development. Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making processes within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement strategic technology initiatives that align with business goals. Contribute to the architectural design and long-term planning of software solutions.
- Tackle complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions that drive business success. Conduct thorough analysis and debugging of critical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 6+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced working experience in Java
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages like Oracle, MySQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Practical cloud native experience
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React JS, javascript, typescript.
- Knowledge and experience building micro services.
- Exposure to cloud technologies especially hands-on with AWS or on-prem cloud like GAP/GKP etc.,
- Exposure to messaging platforms like Kafka, IBM MQ etc.,
