Job Summary:
As a Lead Software Engineer in Regulatory Controls and Operational Risk Technology, you will play a key role as an individual contributor on an agile team. You will leverage your advanced coding skills to develop and enhance one of our most important platforms for Regulatory Tracking and Management. You will deliver critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas supporting the firm’s business objectives. You will help shape our team culture and drive the adoption of new technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to solve complex problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
- Drive outcomes-oriented probing of new technologies for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of leading-edge technologies.
- Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced skills in one or more programming languages.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile).
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems.
- Practical cloud native experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience with Java/J2EE, REST APIs, and building event-driven microservices.
- Experience with Spring Boot Framework and AWS services in public cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in RDBMS concepts and SQL querying.
- Strong proficiency in React and experience with AG Grid for complex data-driven UIs.
- Hands-on experience with Websockets for real-time communication.
- Solid understanding of Redis for caching and pub/sub mechanisms.
