As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will design, develop, and operate cloud-native security services and platforms that protect sensitive data at scale in a regulated financial environment. You will deliver secure, resilient solutions using Java and Python, and apply security controls across cloud-native, containerized environments. You will collaborate with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to translate security requirements into scalable technical solutions, use security tooling and telemetry to analyze vulnerabilities and support incident response, and contribute to operational excellence, monitoring, and resiliency.

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

You will contribute to the design, development, and operation of cloud-native security services, applying strong engineering fundamentals, secure coding practices, and automation to solve complex security challenges.

As a Security Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity Technology Controls organization, you will play a key role in building and operating security-critical platforms that protect sensitive data at scale within a highly regulated, global financial environment. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can independently deliver secure, resilient solutions while partnering closely with product, platform, and application teams.

Job Responsibilities

  •  Design, develop, and support security engineering solutions that protect sensitive data and critical services across distributed systems.
  •  Build and maintain high-quality, production-ready code using Java and Python, following secure SDLC best practices.
  •  Apply security controls and patterns across cloud-native and containerized environments to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  •  Collaborate with application, platform, and infrastructure teams to translate security requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  •  Use security tooling and telemetry to analyze vulnerabilities, assess risk, and support incident response activities.
  •  Contribute to operational excellence, including service reliability, monitoring, and resiliency initiatives.
  •  Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement of security engineering standards.
  •  Actively support a team culture focused on ownership, inclusion, and engineering excellence.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Proven professional experience as a software engineer, operating at a mid-level individual contributor capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python.
  • Experience working in AWS cloud environments and implementing security best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
  •  Solid understanding of application security, secure SDLC, and system resiliency.
  • Ability to work independently on well-defined problems and deliver reliably in production environments.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  •  AWS certifications (Developer Associate or Solutions Architect).
  •  Kubernetes certification or hands-on container platform experience.
  • Experience in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.
