Senior Lead Architect supporting the Credit Card Rewards product within Consumer Card Technology. Owns design and delivery of current-state and target-state architectures, collaborating across technology and business teams to drive cloud-native, scalable, and resilient solutions. Provides subject-matter expertise in areas like API design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud (AWS) while influencing governance and architectural standards. Works with development teams to estimate solutions, challenge designs for reuse/security/stability, and advocate firmwide engineering practices.

Description
As a Sr. Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer Card Technology group, you are an integral part of a team dedicated to developing high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platform products. You play a crucial role in promoting significant business impact and shaping the target state architecture through your expertise in multiple architecture domains. This position will support the Credit Card Rewards product for the design, build and implementation of new and enhanced capabilities. It will have influence on key credit card related features in the award winning rewards & benefits platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define, document, and deliver current state, target states, and initiative-based architectures for Credit Card product domains.
- Collaborate across all corporate technology and line-of-business technology teams to design and socialize solutions.
- Participate in card, connected commerce, digital and cross line-of-business architecture governance and tollgate processes.
- Provide subject matter expertise to multiple cross line-of-business forums, panels, ad-hoc conversations, technologies, and senior business/IT management.
- Work with application development teams to estimate the cost of proposed solutions.
- Stay informed about industry trends and leverage new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
- Challenge designs during concept and review phases to drive re-use, efficiency, security, and stability.
- Define and/or participate in supporting changes to existing or new architectural processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
- Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- In-depth understanding of credit card operations, including rewards, benefits payments, lifecycle management, and account management
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, especially AWS.
- Experience with API design, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD) , Micro-services and Event Driven architecture patterns leveraging Java/J2EE, Spring, SpringBoot, REST, Kafka, Cassandra, Dynamo No SQL Databases and designing highly available , scalable and resilient systems leveraging cloud native technologies predominantly in AWS public Cloud..
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrable experience designing and delivering cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
- AWS certification (Solutions Architect or higher) strongly preferred.
- Currently working in an architect role, with hands-on experience in architectural leadership.
- Architectural experience designing solutions across multiple applications and/or domains.
- Understanding of Mainframe, data streaming and event based architecture preferred
