As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Prime Finance Services, you are an integral part of a global team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities 

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems 

• Spearhead the design and development of real-time, mission-critical trading platform using Java and KDB+/q. 

• Tackle large-scale engineering challenges with technologies like Kafka and AMPS. 

• Be a team player to innovate, troubleshoot, and

  optimize for performance and stability. 

• Foster a culture of creativity, inclusion, and technical excellence. 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive business success.  

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related disciplines

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience 

• 5+ years experiences in developing real-time low-latency Java based application in financial services in the Equities domain 

• Proven expertise in GenAI and Copilot 

• Proficiency in Java/Spring, data structures, and performance tuning (including garbage collection) 

• Proficiency in testing and debugging low latency applications 

• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability 

• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle 

• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security 

• Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices 

• Open-minded and willingness to learn 

• Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals 

• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.) 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

• UI Development experience in React JS is preferable 

• Experience with Kafka, AMPS and FIX protocol is preferable 

• Experience with cloud deployment, design and development concerns is preferable 

• KDB+/q including experience in building and performance tuning of real time subscriber, tickerplant, HDB is preferable 

• Understanding of the Prime business, in particular Equity Finance - Locate and Positions Management is preferable
