As a Software Engineer III - Java Full Stack Developer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Tech Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreate secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGather, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsIdentify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdd to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and3+ yearsapplied experienceHands-on experience across Java/J2EE, Spring ecosystem, MongoDB, Kafka, and React8+ years of professional software development experience, with 4+ years in senior/lead rolesProven track record delivering complex, distributed, production-grade systems at scaleStrong communication and stakeholder management; ability to lead design reviews and mentor engineersMicroservices and event-driven architectures; API-first design; domain-driven design (DDD)Caching strategies (in-memory, Redis), connection pooling, resource governanceThroughput/latency improvements: zero-copy patterns, batching, reactive/non-blocking I/OCapacity planning and performance budgets; load testing (JMeter/Gatling) and regression baselinesStakeholder engagement: translating business needs into technical outcomes and KPIsClear, executive-ready communication: risk trade-offs, dependency management, deliverable planning
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologiesExperience with Camunda, Apache CamelExposure to cloud technologiesBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
