Design, develop and implement software solutions across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Analyze requirements, translate them into software designs and modules, and participate in code reviews to ensure alignment with architecture. Collaborate in design reviews and project planning with project managers, business analysts, and teammates to outline proposed solutions. Build and maintain microservices using Java/J2EE, containerized deployments on AWS EKS, and CI/CD tooling to deliver robust software and improve system observability.

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code- related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Application Architect, Web Developer, Technology Analyst, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Application Architect, Web Developer, Technology Analyst, Software Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing and developing features using technologies including Java and J2EE; containerized services utilizing tools including Docker and Skaffold; deploying microservices to the AWS EKS environment; writing JUnit and Karate integration tests for comprehensive end-to-end testing; automating infrastructure deployments using Terraform; designing microservices with tools including Spring Boot and Hibernate; creating Liquibase scripts with SQL to automate backend database creation; developing automation scripts using Python; writing SQL statements to replicate application metadata to OpenSearch; onboarding Dynatrace for monitoring AWS infrastructure to enhance observability; integrating CI/CD pipelines using tools including Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Spinnaker; performing code reviews and documentation using Bitbucket, Git, and Confluence; and conducting performance, regression, and functional testing to improve application robustness.
