Design, develop and implement software solutions across the full software development lifecycle to solve business problems and support platform onboarding. Work with technologies including Java/J2EE, Spring, microservices, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, NodeJS, MongoDB/Oracle and related tooling. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, application architecture, coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and participating in project planning. Senior-level role requiring substantial prior experience and based in Chicago, IL.

DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Associate, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Associate, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing and building platform onboarding applications with the following: Unix, Waterfall SDLC, Application Architecture Disciplines, Microservices, Apache Kafka, Docker, J2EE, Jenkins, NodeJS, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, Selenium, Shell Scripting, SOAP, WebSphere, Azure Cloud Services, Dynatrace, MongoDB, GIT, JSP, Weblogic, LDAP, JBoss, and PERL; Perform data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow and query optimization using programming language such a SQL and Unix Shell scripting; Utilize techniques to process large data sets using data containers, multithreading, multiprocessing in Tivoli Directory Integrator (TDI); and Design applications using front technologies such as Widgets and backend technology such as Java, Spring boot, Oracle and Kubernetes.
