DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Drive the design, development, and implementation of software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Lead code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Senior Member of Technical Staff, Principal Member of Technical Staff, Associate Projects, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Developing and maintaining low-latency applications using Java, multithreading, and Spring Boot, involving multiple upstream and downstream systems in an Agile development environment; designing and developing applications end-to-end, considering both functional and non-functional requirements; demonstrating and documenting product application features, conducting peer code reviews, and providing technical training to junior engineers; test-driven and behavior- driven development using JUnit and Cucumber; architecting, designing, and developing cross-asset order management workflow solutions for investment banking traders and Sales which support the following products: Repos, IR Swaps and Options, Government and Corporate Bonds, and FX and FX Options; API management using Open API and GQL; building high throughput messaging applications using AMPS, Solace, and Kinesis; integrating trading workflows with third party venues including BBG, TWEB, GLMX, and MarketAxess; devOps tooling and release management using scripting languages Groovy and Shell Script; building applications that interact with database tools, including KDB, Oracle, DynamoDB, and Redshift; building API driven applications using gRPC, FIX, and HTTPS transport protocols; integrating Sales Trader Workflow with Bloomberg Venue API for voice confirmation; provisioning AWS cloud resources using Terraform as an Infrastructure as Code tool; troubleshooting memory-related issues with Java applications; working with Unix and Linux servers for deploying and troubleshooting Java applications; maintaining and developing Elasticsearch for low-latency full-text search capabilities; using Maven and Ansible for efficient build and deployment processes; designing and implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins; and managing and maintaining code repositories using Git for version control and collaboration.
