Join a global engineering team responsible for a real-time trade capture system that processes, normalizes and enriches the firm’s executions across multiple asset classes and feeds them to real-time P&L and risk systems. The role focuses on backend development with heavy use of Java, Murex, multithreading, and middleware technologies. You will work with cloud-native tooling (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD/devops practices, and integrate with relational databases and Spring-based services. Strong ownership, communication, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced finance environment are required.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 6+ years of Java or other language experience
- 4+ years of experience with Murex
- Expertise in Multithreading, Object Oriented design, Design Patterns, Unit & Integration testing
- Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technology
- Familiarity with CI/CD and dev ops tools
- Familiarity with Angular, web technology
- Familiarity with Python or Go
- Experience with middleware technologies like JMS.
- Experience with Spring (core, integration, transactions, etc)
- Experience with relational databases, hibernate
- Detail oriented; Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
- Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
- Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; Good sense of urgency
- Strong communication skills
- Quick learner
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
