Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Java developer to work on our equity flow derivatives pricing and execution platform.

The role involves designing, building, deploying & supporting applications used by the equity derivatives business. Our team owns applications for option pricing, derived data management, request for quote, and various analytics capabilities. The candidate will be working as part of a fast-moving global technology team and will be expected to face-off to front office business stakeholders including traders, sales, and strats/quants.

Skills required:

  • Strong core-Java skills.
  • Experience with building highly resilient, fault tolerant, tested systems.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (any.)
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of running Java on cloud-based platforms.
  • Good Linux fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Skills desirable:

  • Knowledge of equity derivatives products and pricing methodologies.
  • Experience working directly with sales/trading stakeholders.
  • Experience building systems using the reactive paradigm.
  • Modern web development (any.)
  • Understanding of modern authentication/authorization.
  • GitHub experience.
  • Experience with modern Java (21+)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $90,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
