Join the Middle Office Trade Management team to design and build resilient, low-latency Java microservices and modern single-page front ends that support cash and trade lifecycle automation. You'll implement RESTful services with Spring Boot, integrate with upstream/downstream systems, and develop React/Angular UI components. The role owns quality end-to-end including testing, CI hygiene, observability, and performance tuning while collaborating with product, operations, and SRE teams.

Profile Description

Join the Middle Office Trade Management team building resilient, low latency services and intuitive UIs that power cash and trade lifecycle, straight through processing (STP), and exception management. You'll design and ship microservices and front end features that automate instructions, reconcile flows, and strengthen intraday visibility for global stakeholders.

MS Investment Management Technology (IMIT)
Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology exclusively partners with the Morgan Stanley Investment Management business division to design and develop systems and integrate vendor products to globally support full life cycle business processing. Activities include Portfolio Analysis, Risk, Trading, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Technology also provides holistic support and quality assurance across the suite of applications used in the MSIM environment.

Position Overview

Designing and developing modern and modular web applications using modern coding and testing standards.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Design & build RESTful microservices in Java/Spring Boot; implement domain logic, persistence, caching, and integration adapters.

  • Develop front end features in React or Angular including reusable components, state management, and API integrations.

  • Own quality end to end: unit/integration testing, contract testing, CI pipeline hygiene; participate in code reviews.

  • Harden reliability with observability (logs/metrics/alerts), feature toggles, graceful degradation, and performance tuning.

  • Integrate with upstream/downstream systems and vendor endpoints (REST/SFTP/TCP) across cash/trade services.

  • Partner with product & operations to refine requirements, triage issues, and deliver incremental value in sprints.

  • Contribute to SDLC best practices-ADR documentation, security reviews, and entitlement/RBAC considerations.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 2+ years of hands on software development in enterprise environments.

  • Strong proficiency in Java 11+, Spring Boot (Web, Data, Security), REST design, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/SQL).

  • Experience building SPAs with React or Angular; modern JS/TS, component patterns, bundling, and testing.

  • Solid understanding of Git, CI (e.g., Jenkins/GitHub Actions), and branching/release strategies.

  • Knowledge of clean code, OO & design patterns, and microservice concepts (config, discovery, resilience).

  • Comfort troubleshooting production issues with logs/metrics and collaborating with SRE/infra teams.
