Join Revolut's Technology team as a Backend Engineer (Java) to help build a new financial backend and modern back-end features used by millions. You will develop mobile APIs and microservices, focusing on risk management, fraud detection, and payment processing, with a mix of greenfield work and improvements to existing systems and architectures. Expect to work with Java 17/21, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, and CI/CD, with an emphasis on maintainability, TDD and DDD. The role requires 6+ years of backend experience, fluent Java, and strong communication in English; Kotlin or Scala, finance experience, and startup/scale-up exposure are nice-to-have.

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who wants to change the world. If you like to work at a steady pace with no surprises, keep scrolling. What you’ll be doing
- Building mobile APIs
- Developing microservices to evolve our architecture
- Perfecting systems that our business depends on, like risk management, fraud detection, and payment processing
- Focusing on greenfield development and improvement of existing systems
What you'll need
- Fluency with Java
- 6+ years of experience in backend development
- A bachelor's degree (or above) in computer science, maths, physics, or similar field
- To be a quick learner with an ambitious attitude and results-driven personality
- The ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Fluency in English
Nice to have
- Experience with Kotlin or Scala
- Experience in finance
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up
- Experience in a product-focused environment
Compensation range
- Krakow: PLN28,300 - PLN40,000 gross monthly*
- Poland: PLN28,300 - PLN40,000 gross monthly*
- Other locations: Compensation will be discussed during the interview process
*Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and previous experience
