THE IMPACT YOU WILL GENERATE Santander Technology is looking for a SSR JAVA Software Engineer to join the Data Platform team and work on evolving our microservices and internal tools for data ingestion, governance, and security. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the development and evolution of Santander's internal data platform services, collaborating with diverse teams to transform business needs into scalable and reliable solutions. In this position, your main responsibilities will include: - Develop and maintain microservices in Java + Spring Boot. - Implement new functionalities and improvements in services. - Participate in incident analysis and resolution. - Collaborate with the team in continuous improvement, performance, and scalability initiatives. - Contribute ideas and participate in code reviews, documentation, and technical standards. Professional Experience: - 2–3+ years of experience developing with Java (Java 11+). - Experience in developing and evolving microservices. - Experience developing REST APIs and applying good engineering practices. - Experience in debugging and monitoring production applications processing data 24/7 for complex incident resolution and continuous process improvement. - Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and/or distributed teams (Data Engineering, Data Governance, Infrastructure, global teams). Education: - Degree in systems, data science, or other related fields. Languages: - Spanish - English (desirable) Technical Skills (Hard skills): - Proficiency in backend development in Java (Java 11+) and the Spring ecosystem, focusing on Spring Boot. Knowledge of reactive programming (WebFlux) is appreciated, applying good engineering practices. - Development and evolution of microservice architectures, including REST APIs, design patterns, and code versioning. - Knowledge of software testing and quality (unit, integration, etc.) using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito. - Management of NoSQL databases with modeling, performance, and consistency criteria. - Basic knowledge of AWS and its ecosystem (S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, etc.). - Familiarity with Data Engineering, ETL/ELT with Apache Spark, EMR, or Hadoop ecosystems (desirable). - Knowledge of containers, Linux systems, and CI/CD practices for automated deployments. Interpersonal Skills (Soft skills): - Focus on technical quality and continuous improvement, with a “good engineering” mindset. - Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams. - Business orientation: understanding the impact of solutions and alignment with value objectives. - Autonomy and proactivity to identify automation and optimization opportunities. - Clear and effective communication to share knowledge and coordinate with other areas. - Curious attitude and constant learning, seeking to innovate and stay updated with emerging technologies. - Adaptability to changing contexts and hybrid work environments.
