Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the International Banking in Globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

Promote a customer-focused culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage bank-wide resources.
Lead implementation of centralized security master for reference and pricing data, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on application development, architecture, integration, and testing standards.
Support production and user acceptance testing, including troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Oversee system enhancements, testing, documentation, implementation, and post-deployment support.
Maintain deep understanding of business strategies, financial instruments, and risk management processes.
Define and maintain technology strategy and architecture to support divisional goals.
Assist in recruiting and evaluating staff performance; stay current with industry and technology trends.
Integrate risk appetite and culture into daily operations and decision-making.
Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with Scotiabank’s values and conduct standards.
Foster a high-performance and inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information

- A minimum of 5 years in Development of Java (8+), Spring Boot, React solutions. Experience with React or Angular, and microservices (SOAP or Rest).

- A minimum of 5 years working in the financial industry (highly desirable).

- Experience working with automated testing frameworks

- Experience or interest in working in an Agile testing environment

- Testing experience within the financial industry an asset

- Experience working with remote teams contributing in the develop of one application.
