Join Societe Generale's Global Business Service Unit (GBTO) Canada as a Programmer Analyst, focusing on backend development, API development and UI work. You will implement and test features, follow CI/CD pipelines, and provide production support for regulatory reporting and trading applications. You will work in an agile DevOps environment, collaborating with stakeholders and other teams, contributing to automation and continuous improvement. Qualifications include Java 17+, Spring Boot and microservices, REST APIs, containers, and CI/CD tooling.
The aim of Global Business Service Unit (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.<\/p>
Within GBTO, our team oversees regulatory reporting and trading applications. We cover development, operation, and support for these applications, while adhering to agile and DevOps principles. Our team has the privilege of working in close collaboration with our stakeholders and a multitude of other teams.<\/p>
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?<\/strong><\/b><\/p> Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/p> Participate in development & implementing high quality application: backend business logic module, API and User Interfaces (UI's).<\/p><\/li> Implement, test and deliver functionalities according to our standards and following the Continuous Integration process.<\/p><\/li> Provide support on day-to-day operations supporting Defect, Problem, and Crisis processes.<\/p><\/li> Be an active member of the team, participate in daily agile ceremonies.<\/p><\/li> Contribute to the team continuous improvement through communication, documentation, and automation.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>Profile required Technical skills:<\/strong><\/b><\/p> Must Have:<\/strong><\/p> Java 17 or above<\/p><\/li> Good level of expertise in implementing solutions using Java 17 +(at least java 11 above) with focus on API development and performance.<\/p><\/li> hands-on expertise in Spring boot and microservices.<\/p><\/li> Familiar with TDD & BDD Practices.<\/p><\/li> Awareness on DevOps with focus on understanding, implementing and maintaining CI \u2013 CD pipelines, Monitoring and Logging tools.<\/p><\/li> Strong understanding of OOPS concepts.<\/p><\/li> Hands-on experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.<\/p><\/li> HTML\/HTML 5, CSS Modules, Bootstrap, Typescript, JavaScript.<\/p><\/li> Knowledge\/experience on PostgreSQL database.<\/p><\/li> Knowledge and experience working with API\u2019s (REST).<\/p><\/li> Experience working on containers \u2013 Kubernetes \/ Docker.<\/p><\/li> Git\/GitHub, Continuous integration using Maven & Jenkins.<\/p><\/li><\/ul> ExpErience and Competencies:<\/strong><\/b><\/p> Must have:<\/strong><\/p> Troubleshoot problems with application development and usage.<\/p><\/li> Strong object-oriented programming skills.<\/p><\/li> Hands-on experience in Agile best practices TDD, BDD, Refactoring and Clean Code.<\/p><\/li> Clear understanding of Software Development life cycle and process Oriented. Would be great if worked on Agile or Continuous Delivery (CD) based projects before.<\/p><\/li> Good background on preparation and performing functional\/manual testing.<\/p><\/li> Excellent communication skills.<\/p><\/li> Strong understanding of Agile practices, roles and methodologies.<\/p><\/li> Strong understanding of CI-CD practices & tools (JIRA).<\/p><\/li> Analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/p><\/li> Ability to work under agile teams with focus on understanding and contributing to team\u2019s priorities.<\/p><\/li><\/ul> Nice to Have:<\/strong><\/p> Prior experience in a financial environment.<\/p><\/li> Basic financial \/ capital market knowledge.<\/p><\/li> Experience working on public cloud (ex.
