Join the AML Risk engineering team to help detect and prevent money laundering across Wise’s global platform. You will collaborate with product, data science and analytics to build scalable, real-time transaction monitoring and ML-driven detection systems. As an engineer in AML Risk team, you'll help Wise detect and prevent money laundering, and help in our team mission of Clean Money without Borders.
You'll work closely with our cross-functional team comprising of Product, Data Science and Analytics to fight crime, and respond to evolving trends in Money Laundering.
Our Goals are to:
- Build a global money laundering detection system leveraging Machine Learning, LLM's and Real-time transaction monitoring at scale.
- To identify suspicious money laundering activity as early in a customer lifecycle as possible
What does it take?
- A strong product mindset, you prioritise work with the customers and operational teams in mind and make data-driven decisions
- Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
- You have 2+ years of working with Object Oriented Programming Languages. (JVM based languages are a plus), Event Streaming Platforms and microservices
- Experience working with relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas
- You enjoy writing testable code
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Hands on knowledge of system integration patterns
- You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
- Experience with machine learning basics (data pipelines, feature engineering, recall/precision, familiarity with machine learning systems in production) is a huge plus
