The CORS team builds C-Ops Assistant, a browser extension to help Amazon employees access tools quickly. We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team of engineers, drive delivery of milestones in the long-term product vision, and own team success in a global environment. You will mentor engineers, partner with product and program management, recruit, and foster a fun, high-performing engineering culture.
We’re looking for a Software Development Manager who is passionate about user facing applications and enjoys working in a global environment. You will lead a team of engineers towards implementing the next milestones in our long term product vision. In order to succeed you will need to have great intuition and act as a business owner - Amazon teams run like businesses giving you the control to run things the way you see fit, allowing you as a manager to be responsible for your team top to bottom. You’ll have a team of brilliant engineers to help you deliver but you’ll get to roll up your own sleeves and dive deep as well. We’re interested in someone that can not only lead and mentor a great new team but also help us create a fun environment in the process.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience in engineering
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
