The Software Developer junior role is responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of applications supporting local entities, working closely with local application teams and participating in a Hybrid Squad to deliver new releases in Agile sprints. Acting as the technical support for assigned applications, the developer ensures ongoing stability, performance, and security, and maintains alignment with AXA/AXA Partners architecture, security, and coding standards. The role involves learning and executing assigned tasks, learning best practices, collaborating with team members, and gradually taking responsibility for small parts of projects, while collaborating with regional and local stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-quality solutions. What you’ll be doing: Application Design & Development Design, develop, and implement software applications based on business requirements from INORCEE local entities. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following agreed coding standards, patterns, and best practices. Build and maintain integrations (APIs, services, messaging) with internal systems and, where applicable, global assets (e.g., NEO, Guidewire, eCare). Contribute to solution design, estimations, and technical feasibility assessments. Quality, Testing & Code Review Conduct unit and integration testing; debug and resolve defects to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability. Participate in peer code reviews and learn from feedback to uphold code quality and security standards. Monitor and improve application performance, scalability, and resilience. Agile Delivery (Hybrid Squad) Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives). Collaborate with analysts, testers, and product owners to refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, and plan sprint deliveries. Deliver incremental value each sprint and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices. Ownership, Operations & Support Act as the IT support for assigned applications, overseeing their lifecycle, performance, and support. Maintain and update existing applications to improve performance, security, and usability. Provide Level 2 support for incidents and problems; implement fixes and preventive actions to improve stability and user experience. Security & Compliance Ensure application security by applying secure coding practices, dependency management, vulnerability remediation, and secrets management. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, AXA/AXA Partners architecture and security standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., GDPR). Documentation & Knowledge Sharing Document technical specifications, architectural decisions, and code for future reference and knowledge sharing. Maintain runbooks, deployment guides, and operational procedures to support handovers and continuity. DevOps, CI/CD & Release Support deployment and integration activities in collaboration with DevOps teams. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes to improve delivery flow and quality. Assist with environment configuration and troubleshooting across development, test, and production. Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, testers, product owners, local application teams, and regional stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Cooperate and communicate with other AXA Partners departments in line with company policies and ways of working. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends; propose and implement improvements where relevant. Identify technical debt and drive refactoring or modernization initiatives to enhance maintainability and scalability. Champion best practices in coding, testing, and DevOps to improve team effectiveness and product quality What you’ll bring: 1+ years of experience on Software Developer role Knowledge in programming languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript, or others relevant to the role. Understanding software development frameworks and libraries (e.g., .NET, React, Next.js, Blazor as a plus). Knowledge of Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, SQL) Experience with DevOps tools and practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines) Experience with AI-assisted development Understanding software design and architecture principles. Knowledge of databases and SQL for data storage and retrieval. Familiarity with version control systems like Git. Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques. Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services. Basic understanding of security best practices. Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements. Fluent English both written and oral is a must.
