Role Description

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will spearhead software development projects, leveraging Angular to craft innovative online banking customer processes. You will collaborate extensively with various teams to design and implement new, reusable front-end components for online banking and other critical applications. Your core focus will be on the advanced development of online banking business processes, with a strong emphasis on security procedures, payments, and transactions. You will be a hands-on leader, serving as the primary subject matter expert for all frontend-related inquiries, providing mentorship to junior Frontend Engineers, and supporting broader team needs. Your responsibilities will include delivering training sessions, fostering efficient knowledge transfer within our frontend guild and other forums. You will apply your extensive experience and knowledge to ensure that all solutions are highly scalable and perform flawlessly under extremely high load scenarios, accommodating more than 50,000-100,000 parallel customer accesses. Your contributions to this highly visible web application will be paramount to our customer experience and Deutsche Bank’s esteemed reputation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new online banking customer processes as a Lead Frontend Engineer using Angular.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to design and develop new, reusable front-end components for online banking and other applications.
  • Focus on the advanced development of critical online banking business processes, particularly in the context of security procedures, payments, and transactions.
  • Act as the primary contact and subject matter expert for all frontend-related topics, providing technical guidance and mentorship to Frontend Engineers and other team members.
  • Deliver training sessions to development teams and champion efficient knowledge transfer within the frontend guild and other collaborative platforms.
  • Ensure that all developed solutions are highly scalable and perform flawlessly under very high load scenarios (e.g., 50,000-100,000+ parallel customer accesses).
  • Drive the development of high-visibility web applications that are critical to customer experience and Deutsche Bank’s reputation.

Your skills and experience

  • Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (both practical) in Single Page Applications with Angular, RxJS, and TypeScript, combined with REST-based APIs.
  • Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (both practical) in responsive design, specifically HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS (especially Bootstrap 4+).
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience in Frontend testing using Karma/Jasmine or Jest.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with NodeJS and REST Services.
  • Knowledge within the framework of WCAG 2 AA Compliance (Accessibility).
  • Experience in the NX mono repository toolset (a plus).
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, strong independence and initiative, and a proven ability to work effectively in agile delivery teams.
  • Extensive experience in technical and methodological coaching of junior UI/UX Engineers and active participation in their continuous development.
  • A strong passion for continuously learning and applying new technologies and programming languages in a rapidly evolving web environment.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; German is a plus.
