Lead the Commerce engineering team focused on the eCommerce platform (frontend and backend) for DocuSign’s digital business. This technical management role drives projects end-to-end—from idea formulation and design to implementation—while performing code reviews and participating in architecture discussions. You will translate ecommerce integration requirements into well-defined software deliverables, set the team roadmap, and grow a high-performing, diverse team through mentoring and hiring. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence (minimum 2 days per week) and reports to the Sr. Director of Engineering.

What you'll do Docusign is looking for a highly motivated Director of Engineering to join our Commerce engineering team under the Growth vertical. The Director of Engineering will lead a high-performing team of Software Engineers and Managers. This position is a technical management role focusing on the eCommerce platform (frontend and backend) for DocuSign’s digital business. This position is a people manager role reporting to the Sr. Director of Engineering. Responsibility Lead the eCommerce team to drive projects from idea formulation, to design, and through to implementation Perform code reviews and participate in design discussions Work with product and project team to understand and translate eCommerce integration requirements into software requirements that are well defined, measurable and attainable Work as part of a multi-platform development team in the design, implementation, testing and release of new solutions Drive strong partnerships with the product management, business, and other stakeholders Set team strategy and be accountable for team plans and deliverables Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring as well mentoring, and coaching Help define the vision and roadmap for eCommerce platform Collaborate with other engineering and cross-functional teams Provide strong technical leadership to the team and partner teams in the US Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. What you bring Basic 20+ years of engineering experience in building eCommerce systems Experience in building eCommerce or user facing applications 10+ years of professional experience building scalable and testable APIs or Frontend 5+ years of people management experience Robust object-oriented design and architectural skills BS degree in CS or equivalent work experience Preferred Passion for learning and working with new technologies Product development experience building large scale web applications Strong project management skills and experience with agile/scrum Highly motivated self-starter with a bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality data solutions Attention to detail and quality with excellent problem solving and communication skills Life at Docusign Working here Docusign is committed to building trust and making the world more agreeable for our employees, customers and the communities in which we live and work.
