EY is seeking a Mid-Level React Front-end Developer to join its Technology Transformation Consulting practice in Cyprus. You will build scalable React applications, implement pixel-perfect UI with designers, and collaborate with backend teams to integrate secure RESTful APIs and manage state with Redux or Context API. You will optimize performance, write unit and integration tests, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural discussions in a hybrid work environment (3 days onsite) in Cyprus and internationally.

To achieve this, we are seeking a Mid-Level React Front-end Developer to join our Technology Transformation Consulting practice. Our team is part of EY’s Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia (CESA) cluster, delivering market leading services to organizations across industries in Cyprus and internationally.

Your Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Build and maintain scalable React applications and reusable component libraries.  

  • Integrate secure RESTful APIs and manage application state with Redux or Context API. 

  • Collaborate with backend teams to define API specifications. 

  • Implement pixelperfect UI in collaboration with designers.  

  • Optimize application performance (lazy loading, code splitting, tuning). 

  • Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews.  

  • Mentor junior developers and participate in architectural discussions. 

 

Required Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.  

  • 3–7 years of handson frontend development experience with React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.  

  • Strong knowledge of Redux or Context API for state management.  

  • Experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel).  

  • Proficiency with multi-environment app configurations, Git workflows, and CI/CD practices. 

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP), including hosting, scaling, CDNs, caching, and serverless functions. 

  • Proven experience implementing authentication & authorization flows (e.g. OAuth2 / OIDC, JWT). 

  • Must be based in Cyprus, or willing to relocate, and follow a hybrid work model (3 days per week onsite). 

 

Skills and attributes for success 

 

  • Strong debugging, problemsolving, and performanceprofiling skills.  

  • Ability to work crossfunctionally across design, backend, QA, and product teams.  

  • Clear communication, ownership mindset, and high attention to code quality. 

  • Proficient in using AI coding agents to accelerate development across the stack (component generation, test writing, API exploration), while applying strong judgment about accuracy, maintainability, and security. 

  • Ability to use vibe coding methods (AI-driven ideation, architectural exploration, multistep agentic workflows) without sacrificing quality. 

  • Comfortable evaluating AI-suggested optimizations, patterns, and alternatives, choosing only what aligns with best practices. 

 

Ideally you should also have 

 

  • Experience integrating real-time features such as WebSockets, Server-Sent Events (SSE), Socket.io, Pub/Sub systems. 

  • Experience with notifications systems, including push notifications & in-app messaging. 

  • Experience building or integrating design systems / component libraries (Storybook, MUI). 

  • Handson GraphQL experience.  

  • Cloud native development certification (Azure/AWS). 

  • Experience with frameworks such as Next.js. 

  • Strong knowledge of accessibility best practices. 

  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows, Docker, or similar tools.
