Who are we

Engineers in the AM Public Finance Data Engineering help ensure WM division meets all of its financial control and reporting obligations. Working in small and nimble project teams, they build critical and complex applications to calculate Financial Metrics and monitor the division’s Assets, Revenues and Expenses and support various financial and management reporting needs across multiple business teams.

Using a combination of computer science, finance and math skills, they build and support complex and critical software products that meet the ever-changing business needs and regulatory environment. They collaborate very closely with the management reporting and controllers business teams to transform business rules into working applications

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize programming and analytical skills to architect and develop full stack applications for AWM to translate business and technical requirements into well-designed applications.
  • Build platforms which facilitate Financial and Management reporting functions for AWM.
  • Participate in the complete software life cycle using various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools.
  • Help maintain the reliability and quality of software through code reviews, testing, and other practices.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical & business audiences and working globally
  • Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Skills and Experience what we look for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts
  • Strong Full-stack technical design and development skills and experience.
  • Technologies: Web/RESTful service development, JavaScript/React, JSON
  • Technologies: Qlikview, Tableau, Data modeling
  • Technologies: AWS, Snowflake, Spark , memSQL, DB2, HDFS, Distributed Computing. 
  • Strong programming experience in at least one compiled language (e.g. Java, Scala)
  • In-depth knowledge of relational and columnar SQL databases, including database design

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$130000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
