Join ING Hubs Romania as a Senior Front-End Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain a client portal used across 40 countries. You will build front-end applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensure code quality through unit testing, participate in code reviews and SCRUM ceremonies, and work with Azure pipelines for CI/CD. You will stay up-to-date with the latest front-end trends and best practices, proposing innovative solutions to improve user experience using modern JavaScript frameworks. The role supports flexible work from home with office options in Bucharest (and Cluj-Napoca).
ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 2000 high-performing engineers, risk, and operations professionals.

The Mission
ING Hubs Romania is looking for a strong developer who is technically passionate, solution-focused and able to design, develop, test, maintain and expand the functionalities of a portal that is used by different clients.
Our global portal serves different clients across 40 countries and for ING employees worldwide. With features like Service Requests and Client Insights, our goal is to empower colleagues to support clients more efficiently while driving client digitalization. At the same time, we are committed to strengthening application resilience by enhancing security, implementing robust quality gates, and improving monitoring and alerting capabilities.
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
Develop front end applications by using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript;
Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following best practices and coding standards;
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of front end components to ensure seamless functionality and user satisfaction;
Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in front end development, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the user experience;
Work closely with the development team to define and refine technical requirements, and project timelines;
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions to improve code quality and maintainability;
Accustomed with an agile way of working, participate in SCRUM ceremonies;
Working with Azure pipelines for CI/CD.
What you’ll bring to the team
Experience: minimum 3 years of experience;
Tech stack / knowledge:
Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS;
Experience writing unit tests, familiar with tools like (e.g. Mocha, karma, Chai, Sinon);
Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js, Svelte) and a solid understanding of its core principles;
Experience with front end build tools (e.g. Webpack and Rollup).
Nice to have:
Working experience with TypeScript;
Familiar with Web Components, Custom Elements and Shadow DOM;
Write functional tests by using Playwright and Cucumber.js;
Basic understanding of Accessibility;
Experience with Azure DevOps;
Foreign languages: English (advanced);
Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
