As a BI Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Market Risk team, you will contribute to the rapid expansion of a strategic visualization and reporting platform. You will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Work with product owners, scrum master and UX to ensure the smooth delivery of features and valuable solutions.
- Contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide and Risk Technology frameworks, tools, standards and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of strategic, leading-edge technologies
- Contribute to a high performing, dynamic team and help minimize impediments to development progress.
- Tackle design and functionality problems in collaboration with lead and peers.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across teams to align on requirements, priorities, and solutions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training and experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Extensive experience developing business intelligence solutions in Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and/or Sigma for executive reporting and ad‑hoc analysis
- Strong data visualization skills and experience communicating insights to non-technical audiences
- Proficient in SQL and data modeling for analytics
- Expertise and eagerness to explore modern web development (ReactJS, TypeScript, Vite/Webpack, Jest) to build or enhance custom visualization components and extend BI capabilities where appropriate.
- Familiarity with performance optimization, access controls, and data governance
- Ability to evaluate and adopt emerging visualization technologies and frameworks as the platform scales and evolves

- Experience working with UX professionals
- Experience working with design systems
