As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Commercial and Investment Bank - Securitized Products Group team you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
Adds to team culture of curiosity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages such as .Net and C#
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Hand-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle)
- Experience in Operating Systems such as Linux
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, etc.)
- Hands on Experience in system design, application development, testing (including automated testing), and operational stability
Proficient in developing and implementing solutions using React and Apache KafkaPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Financial Services experience
- Hands on experience with Java
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS Design and deliver market-leading technology products in a secure and scalable way as a seasoned member of an agile team
