Senior Prototype Technologist will develop and maintain AI-first prototypes to rapidly communicate design vision and AI capabilities, and act as a liaison between UX and Engineering. You will collaborate with Applied Science to evaluate models, iterate on interaction models, and translate design artifacts into production-ready code. You will contribute to design systems, ensure accessibility and performance, and help build AI-driven tooling to scale design-to-code workflows.

Overview

AI ERP’s mission is to transform Enterprise Resource Planning through AI by building autonomous, agent driven systems that change how work gets done at scale. Field Service is where AI ERP meets the frontline, supporting managers, dispatchers and technicians in complex, high stakes operations, connecting planning, execution, and insight into a single intelligent flow. The team works at the intersection of AI, enterprise systems and human centered design, solving practical problems for customers while shaping the future of autonomous ERP.

We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Senior Prototype Technologist who can meticulously craft our collective vision through code, while being an influential liaison between the UX and Engineering teams to up-level our quality across the organization; building consistent, intuitive, and accessible experiences, leveraging modern aesthetics and the latest AI technology and workflows. If you thrive on crafting experiences that empower and delight users while bridging design with engineering at scale, this is your opportunity to make a massive impact.

We are seeking a Senior Prototype Technologist who will:

  • Develop and maintain functional prototypes that leverage the latest in AI-first workflows to rapidly iterate and communicate design vision and AI capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Applied Science to create and run evaluations, refining our AI prototypes and experiences.
  • Rapidly iterate on interaction models, validating hypotheses through hands-on prototyping and user testing.
  • Progress functional prototypes through to shipping secure, compliant production code with a focus on high quality UX.
  • Contribute to design systems and component libraries optimized for conversational and agentic experiences.
  • Act as a bridge between the Design, Research, Applied Science and Software Engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of UX vision through the lens of technical feasibility.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Transform design artifacts such as Figma files and functional prototypes into production ready code, enabling our teams to deliver modern, consistent experiences faster.
  • Partner with Applied Scientists to integrate and evaluate model outputs in UX prototypes and experiences, ensuring performance, usability and quality.
  • Provide technical guidance on feasibility, scalability, and accessibility for new UX patterns.
  • Document and share best practices for prototyping AI-driven experiences within Microsoft’s ecosystem.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to educate others on design and implementation tradeoffs, proactively identifying potential risks and developing solutions for optimal outcomes.
  • Champion accessibility, performance, and reusability, making design system components robust and future-proof.
  • Shape the future of our design system by contributing to AI-driven tooling, open-source initiatives, while building automation to enhance scalability, maintainability, and forward-thinking innovation.
  • Bridge design and engineering disciplines: Translate between design intent and technical implementation, working fluidly across UX engineering, design systems, and code to ensure seamless collaboration between teams.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools: Utilize GitHub Copilot, LLM-powered code generation, and prompt engineering techniques to accelerate prototyping workflows and establish best practices for AI-augmented development.
  • Build and scale design-to-code systems: Develop, maintain, and evolve design system components and libraries that enable efficient translation from design specifications to production-ready code.
  • Deliver high-quality front-end solutions: Write clean, maintainable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern web frameworks (React, etc.) that meets both design standards and engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Partner effectively with designers, researchers, applied scientists, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align on goals, resolve technical constraints and drive projects to successful completion.
