Join Morgan Stanley's GCM Strats team to develop and scale frontend business strategy, client intelligence and risk management tools. You will build visualizations and data reporting systems, improve performance and UX, and collaborate regularly with New York colleagues to integrate technology into trading and banking workflows.

Morgan Stanley's Global Capital Markets (GCM) division responds with market judgments and ingenuity to clients' needs for capital. Whether executing an IPO, a debt offering or a leveraged buyout, GCM integrates our expertise in Sales and Trading and in Investment Banking to offer clients seamless advice and sophisticated solutions. GCM Strats work with bankers, traders, and other Strat groups across the firm and help differentiate Morgan Stanley’s investment banking franchise by using a combination of financial engineering, mathematical modeling, data science and computer science to analyze markets, products and capital market transactions.

The GCM Strats group is looking for a developer to support and scale our suite of business strategy, client intelligence and risk management tools. Responsibilities will also include leading technology advancements by developing libraries, improving user interfaces, performing code review, identifying and remediating system risk, and educating peers and the desks on new technology solutions to integrate into their workflows for efficiency improvements.

You will:

  • Improve our monitoring, pricing, risk mitigating and opportunity-finding tools for strategic lending and leveraged finance groups in Global Capital Markets (GCM) division
  • Develop visualization tools and data reporting systems
  • Increase overall efficiency and performance speed of our workflows and related processes
  • Communicate with colleagues in New York GCM division on a regular basis

You have:

  • Html5 / Javascript / React / NodeJS experience (1-3 years)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team
  • Good communication skills

You might also have:

  • Programming experience with either q/KDB, Python (or any OO languages)
  • Development background, implementation experience with new technologies (Big Data, Cloud, ML)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, finance, loan and credit products
