Join Mechatronics Sustainable Packaging as a Controls Integration Engineer to deliver next-gen fulfillment systems. You will own field activities to integrate, deploy, and troubleshoot new mechatronics and packaging technology, acting as a liaison between operations, design, and suppliers. You will lead commissioning and develop tools, training materials, and best practices, while supporting performance ramp at scale and onboarding facility controls technicians. This role requires traveling up to 75% and working across greenfield and brownfield sites to optimize system performance.

Mechatronics Sustainable Packaging is looking for a Controls Integration Engineer to be part of our global team to deliver the next generation of world-class fulfillment systems through the use of advanced technology. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support.

The Controls Integration Engineer will be part of a full product life cycle and responsible for successful delivery of units for development and operations. You will serve as a liaison between Fulfillment Center Operations (our customer), product design and development engineers.

This role will require the ability to build relationships across a cross functional team capturing and synthesizing the voice of the customer. Their primary goal is to own the field activities integrating, deploying, and troubleshooting solutions for new mechatronics systems and packaging technology; act as a liaison for internal and external resources and be on call as needed to support downtime events. This position will also provide proper training and support to facility controls technicians on system troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to focus on the system performance improvement and optimization. In parallel with the Deployment Teams you will support performance ramp of the technology deployment at scale.

You are able to take the lead on the implementation and delivery of complex system designs and MSP technology in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. You integrate systems for safety, security, stability, and efficiency. You participate in the full system development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and solution quality needs.

Note: 75% travel will be required.

Key job responsibilities
- Write control specification documents for deployment of technology products.
- Integrate control system products and partner with suppliers and customers.
- Commissioning: working with all the stakeholders to optimize the workcell to predefined success criteria to ensure smooth handover of technology products.
- PLC troubleshoot and diagnostic.
- Own controls/software commissioning tasks for technology products.
- Design and develop commissioning tools and customer-facing components to facilitate scalable business growth.
- Lead initiatives to enhance engineering, testing, and operational best practices within the team.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and testing of both existing and prospective engineering solutions and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop control specifications and training materials.
- Lead incident follow-up, root cause analysis, and documentation.
- Engage in industrial engineering design for both existing and new material handling systems across our global network.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Health & Safety (H&S) protocols and actively contribute to the identification and mitigation of potential H&S risks.
- Foster effective relationships by partnering with various stakeholders.

A day in the life
On a day-to-day basis, the engineer would be commissioning and deploying workcells at both Greenfield and Brownfield sites. The engineer will also learn how to integrate packcells into the existing infrastructure we have in place. Furthermore, the engineer will utilize their PLC / codesys programming skills to carry out continuous improvement initiatives.Moreover, engineer will use high level languages , AI tools and AWS infra s to create commissioning / predictive maintenance tools for robotics workcells .

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
