An Industrial Engineer for Amazon's Leo Production Operations will focus on executing complex test, development, and data processing tasks to support mechanical, electrical, and optical hardware builds. The role requires hands-on expertise across mechanical and electrical domains to enable hardware automation, instrumentation, and post-processing in a production environment. You will be embedded with design and development teams to accelerate LRU hardware development, lead tasks such as discrete event simulations and data processing, and collaborate with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to prototype and iterate complex electro/mechanical systems, driving innovation and quality.

The Production Operations team is seeking an Industrial Engineer specializing in execution of complex Test, Development, and Data Processing needs to support mechanical, electrical and optical hardware builds. This role requires hands-on expertise in both mechanical and electrical domains, enabling the seamless execution of hardware automation, instrumentation, and post-processing.

This position requires strong conceptual development and the proficient use, and implementation, of various testing and automation processes within a production environment.

Key job responsibilities
As an Industrial Engineer, you will be embedded within our design and development teams, working closely with engineers, technicians, and test engineers to accelerate LRU hardware development.

- Lead a variety of tasks, including: discrete event simulations, data processing, and operational support.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to develop functional prototype hardware of complex electro/mechanical systems.
- Drive technical innovation and exhibit consistent high-level of quality and speed.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

The Production Operations team accelerates scheduling development via manufacturing and integration of new-to-world products.

We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced, start-up like environment. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals
- Experience in test setup automation using MATLAB, Python, or Pearl

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- 3+ years of satellite communications ground systems and operations experience
- Experience in creating products and services with hardware and software integrated
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
- Experience with integrated aerospace/avionics assemblies
- Familiarity with vacuum systems, high-voltage testing, and environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI).
- Experience with creating Design of Experiments
- Familiarity with sensors, transducers, and data acquisition

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
