Senior ML Operations Engineer to own and facilitate high-frequency, high-quality Python-based rating changes for AXA Retail's ML deployment workflows. You will help build frameworks, tools, and APIs to scale Python deployment processes in our quote and buy architecture, while collaborating with stakeholders. The role involves developing and operating Python rating engines, contributing to architectural and technical documentation, and working in a hybrid office/home setup. Requires strong Python experience, data science/software background, and ability to steer technical change.

It's an exciting time in our Pricing and Analytics department! Our transformation programme has recently been relaunched, aligned to AXA Retail's first ever Pricing and Analytics strategy. AXA are investing a lot in growing our department in size and capability - across our IT systems, analytical toolset and learning and development. We'd love to hear from motivated people who can help us deliver our commitments to our business, our customers, and our people. Within AXA Retail we’re looking for a Senior Machine Learning (ML) Operations Engineer to own and facilitate high frequency, high quality and high accuracy rating changes to Python deployments for our business. The role will involve playing a key role in building frameworks, tools and APIs which allow us to scale out our Python deployment processes, a key element of our quote and buy architecture. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you’ll be doing: Own and help steer the development and operation of Python rating engines as part of ML Operations team. Enable P&A department to deliver value via creating seamless, efficient and controlled, through harmonious and simple routes for rating changes. Develop tools for the team and external teams to increase our rating capability. Contribute to architectural and technical documentation. Engage with stakeholders regularly and distil requirements into technical details. Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Take ownership of AXA Retail business performance and how ML teams can contribute to that. What you’ll bring: Excellent logical reasoning skills with a degree in a mathematical/technical related (e.g.: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics) or evidence of equivalent proficiency. Demonstrable experience in previous data science or software roles. Critical and analytical approach to problem structuring. Ability to continually learn and develop. Strong drive to deliver and comfortable collaborating in a team. Effective communication to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong initiative and desire to steer technical change. Experience working with Git. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
