Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Linux Administrator with strong, hands‑on expertise in automation , GitOps , Infrastructure as Code (IaC) , and bare-metal cluster engineering . This role will spearhead the migration of OpenShift workloads from virtualized platforms to bare‑metal servers while designing automation‑driven infrastructure that supports declarative, version‑controlled operations.

Job Description - Grade Specific

  • Design and implement GitOps‑based automation frameworks to enforce IaC best practices.
  • Automate the build, configuration, and lifecycle management of bare‑metal clusters .
  • Reduce provisioning cycle time for new nodes or full cluster builds through end‑to‑end automation .
  • Ensure complete traceability, reproducibility, and recoverability of all changes via scripted, version‑controlled workflows .
  • Champion a shift from imperative, manual operations to declarative, desired‑state‑driven approaches.
  • Lead the migration of OpenShift workloads from VMware‑based virtual machines to bare‑metal infrastructure .
  • Maintain minimal downtime while ensuring full adherence to enterprise security and compliance requirements.
  • Architect, deploy, and optimize bare‑metal OpenShift clusters for performance, scale, and resilience.
  • Integrate automation for monitoring, patching, lifecycle management, and disaster recovery
  • Manage, harden, and maintain enterprise‑grade Linux systems (RHEL preferred).
  • Implement automated patching , configuration management , and compliance validation
  • Automate network configuration for bare‑metal clusters (VLANs, routing, DNS).
  • Provide support for Oracle database deployments within Linux and OpenShift environments.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with GitOps (Argo CD or Flux) and IaC tools such as Ansible and Terraform .
  • Strong scripting ability using Bash and Python .
  • Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning.
  • 7+ years of Linux system administration experience.
  • 4+ years working with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) , including migrations and cluster setup.
  • Knowledge of bare‑metal provisioning and lifecycle automation.
  • Familiarity with core networking concepts and Oracle database environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent.
  • Experience with large‑scale automated deployments .
  • Understanding of enterprise security and compliance frameworks.
