Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.

The Strats team is responsible for delivery of risk and Profit and Loss (P&L) and pricing platforms for the trading businesses globally. The team delivers innovative solutions to business requirements, ensuring that these solutions are accurate, performant, robust, reliable and scalable.

You will be joining the Flow Rates Desk Strats team to support the development and implementation of the strategic Kannon platform (written in C++ and Python), building the 'Golden-Source' representation of Trading Inventory, delivering critical interest rate curves for risk and P&L platforms within Investment Bank. This aims to integrate front office functions into a single architecture, removing duplication and operational complexity caused by fragmentation of these functions across 30+ legacy platforms.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support Flow Rates business (Pricing, risks analysis, P&L)
  • Support with business-driven opportunities and contributing innovative and quantitative ideas to solve complex problems for the desk
  • Analysis, design, and development of analytics for linear rates products within Kannon platform
  • Work together in partnership with other Strats and Technology teams to drive the build-out of the strategic market data, trade inventory and analytics platforms
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders across trading, finance, software development and Market Risk

Your skills and experience

  • Strong quantitative, modelling, pricing and risk management skills, demonstrated within a financial services environment
  • Experience pricing and risk calculation for interest rate products using C++ and Python
  • Experience working with interest rate curve construction and calibration
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem solving and numerical skills
  • Identifies architectural opportunities and employ best practices by default
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and partner with various teams, and to be able to explain complex concepts effectively
