We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.

Business: Enterprise Technology L3

Principal responsibilities:

• Design and Develop: Architect, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code for our backend services and APIs.
• API Development: Create and optimize RESTful APIs to support our frontend applications and integrate with third-party services.
• Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) for performance and scalability.
• System Architecture: Contribute to the design and evolution of our backend architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy, manage, and monitor backend components on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure), leveraging CI/CD pipelines.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in our backend systems and databases.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Testing & Quality: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system stability. Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards.
• Agile Development: Actively participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to a collaborative development process.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Investigate and resolve production issues, providing timely solutions and root cause analysis.
• Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices, and propose innovative solutions to improve our platform.
• AI/ML Integration (if applicable): Integrate and leverage AI/ML models and frameworks (e.g., LangChain) to enhance our product's capabilities.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on Python.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Python Proficiency: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Python and its core libraries.
• Web Frameworks: Proven experience with at least one major Python web framework such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• API Development: Strong experience in designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Databases: Solid experience with relational database design, development, and optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL). Understanding of ORM concepts.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and tools (e.g., Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/GitLab CI/GitHub Actions).
• Testing: Experience writing effective unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Familiarity with testing frameworks like pytest.
• Problem Solving: Excellent analytical, design, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with diverse teams across different locations (e.g., China, Hong Kong, UK).
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum, Kanban).

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Experience in Generative AI applications and frameworks like LangChain or Dify.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming in Python.
• Experience with data science tools and libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter Notebooks).
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Cloud certifications (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with microservices architecture.
