IMC is hiring a Power & Gas Quantitative Analyst to support its growing trading initiative in Aarhus, focusing on European power and gas markets. The role involves designing, implementing, and validating quantitative and ML models, producing production-quality Python code, and collaborating closely with traders to convert market insight into tradeable signals.

IMC is continuing to grow its trading initiative in Aarhus, Denmark, to become a major player in the European Power and Gas markets. This expansion is built on a strong foundation of experienced external hires in Trading and internal talent in Technology. With a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, the team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping and scaling this new business.

The group combines deep expertise with broad trading experience and values innovation, ownership and cross-functional collaboration. As this business continues to grow, there will be increasing opportunities to take on broader responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to its success.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain quantitative models used for trading, forecasting, and market analysis.
  • Apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and data-driven analysis to European power and gas markets, with direct impact on trading performance.
  • Develop robust, production-quality Python code and ensure models and results are well-tested and reliable.
  • Collaborate closely with traders to translate market intuition and fundamental insights into quantitative signals and tradeable models.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong academic background, preferably in a quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing quantitative models, machine learning solutions, or data-driven trading analytics.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience working with complex data and models.
  • A rigorous and structured approach to analysis and validation.
  • Experience with energy markets (power and gas) is an advantage but not a must; candidates with strong quantitative or ML backgrounds from other domains are encouraged to apply.
  • Fluency in English.
