This role offers a working student position at IMC where you will gain practical experience in a global trading firm, working on analytical, technical, and strategic projects. You will collaborate with quantitative researchers and engineers, building tools and working with data in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

As a Working Student at IMC, you’ll gain first-hand experience of what it’s like to work in a leading global trading firm while adding real value to our local team. This is your opportunity to develop analytical, technical, and business skills in a high-performance environment where innovation and collaboration go hand in hand.

You’ll take ownership of your own projects and work closely with some of the best minds in trading and quantitative research. Whether your interests lie in markets, data, or strategy, you’ll have the chance to explore your niche and make an impact.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support our Aarhus team by contributing to analytical, technical, or strategic projects depending on your background and interests
  • Collaborate closely with IMC’s quantitative researchers and engineers across our global offices
  • Analyse data, build tools, or develop insights to improve decision-making and efficiency
  • Learn about the trading technology landscape and IMC’s unique approach to combining software, data, and markets
  • Receive guidance from experienced mentors and build valuable connections with full-time employees across IMC

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or business-related field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Python, Java or another programming language
  • A genuine interest in financial markets (no prior knowledge or experience is required)
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
  • Available to work part-time (approx. 15–20 hours per week) in the IMC Aarhus office

WHY JOIN IMC AARHUS

IMC Aarhus is part of IMC’s global trading organisation, combining a collaborative start-up atmosphere with the resources and expertise of a leading international firm. You’ll gain exposure to our unique way of working; fast-paced, data-driven, and deeply collaborative and see how your work directly contributes to the firm’s success.

You’ll also be part of a tight-knit local team with regular opportunities to connect with colleagues from Amsterdam and other IMC offices.

YOUR TASKS

  • Build tools, dashboards, or automation scripts to support trading and research systems
  • Work with large datasets, optimising data pipelines or developing APIs
  • Collaborate with engineers to enhance existing tools and workflows
