Join JetBrains' Data Analytics Team as a Data Analyst responsible for building a system of metrics to track product usability, conducting A/B testing, and interpreting results. You will develop experiments, provide recommendations for product improvements and UX enhancements, and collaborate with managers, developers, and designers to support data-driven decision-making. This role also includes ad-hoc analyses to support product decisions and requires strong analytical thinking and proficiency in Python and SQL.

Founded in 2000, JetBrains is a global leader in professional software development tools. We are passionate about making software development a more productive and enjoyable experience through intelligent tools that help developers escape the routine and help their creativity thrive. We conduct various kinds of research for our product teams: IntelliJ based IDEs, Fleet, TeamCity, and YouTrack. We are currently looking for talented, inventive, and passionate people to join our growing team.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Develop a system of metrics for the advancement of JetBrains products: where usability problems occur within the product, how changes to the product affect its metrics, and what experiments are necessary to improve the product.
  • Perform A/B testing, develop testing conditions, and interpret the results.
  • Provide recommendations for product improvement and search for the best solutions for UX enhancement.
  • Collaborate with managers, developers, and designers.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support product decision-making.

We’ll be happy to bring you on board if you have:

  • Strong analytical thinking skills, including the ability to challenge hypotheses, analyze and structure data, draw conclusions, and interrelate data.
  • Proficiency in mathematical statistics and practical experience applying it.
  • Confidence using Python (Pandas, NumPy) and experience with SQL.
  • Ability to determine the appropriate approach to data assessment: analytics, research, or leveraging external data.
  • At least one year of experience in data analysis or a related field.
  • Commitment, strong self-management skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve complex problems under conditions of incomplete data.

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience solving non-trivial tasks.
  • A proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in research-oriented roles.
