Lead the Instrument Reference Data team as VP, responsible for day-to-day third-party price capture, bond price validation, and analytics across various bond types. Recruit, train, and manage a team to maintain Instrument & Common Reference Data on core platforms, and collaborate with pricing vendors to minimize risk. Monitor systems, coordinate with technology and operations to resolve issues, and prepare daily pricing summaries, month-end index rebalance reports, and client-facing analyses. Drive process design, business analysis, and project management in partnership with technology and operations, and contribute to pricing control and client meetings.

As the Vice-President specializing in the Instrument Reference Data Team within JP Morgan, you are responsible for meeting internal client demands across various Lines of Business. You will contribute to the success of daily third-party price capture and validation of bond prices by analyzing market sources and price movements. Your role includes recruiting, training, and managing a team to maintain Instrument & Common Reference Data on core platforms. You will run analytics for different bond types, calculate Accrued Interest and YTM, and resolve discrepancies. Liaising with pricing vendors to address pricing issues and minimize risk is essential. You will monitor systems, collaborate with technology teams to resolve issues, and prepare daily pricing summaries. Generating month-end Index rebalance reports and analyzing valuation movements within client portfolios are key tasks. You will complete all required tasks and reporting, resolve client queries, and participate in client meetings. Escalating issues, contributing to pricing control process developments, and managing team performance are part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will design operational processes, perform business analysis, and manage project tasks in collaboration with technology and operations teams.

Job responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the success and execution of daily third-party price capture and validation of bond prices by comparing multiple market sources and analyzing price movements against market news and expectations.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team responsible for the creation and maintenance of Instrument & Common Reference Data on core platforms.
  • Run analytics for various bond types (Fixed, Floating, Sinking, Callable), calculate and compare Accrued Interest and YTM, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Liaise with pricing vendors to resolve pricing issues and minimize risk.
  • Monitor systems for various jobs, resolve issues by collaborating with technology teams, and prepare daily pricing and market impact summaries with supporting market news.
  • Generate and maintain month-end Index rebalance and composition reports by gathering information on new bond issuance and auction/buy-back activities.
  • Produce and analyze valuation movements within client portfolios on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Complete all daily, monthly, and ad-hoc tasks and reporting as required, and resolve client queries promptly and professionally.
  • Participate and present in client monthly meetings.
  • Escalate issues promptly and effectively to supervisors, contribute to ongoing developments of the pricing control process, manage performance and development of team members, and assist with succession planning.
  • Design and implement controlled operational processes to meet business needs, perform business analysis tasks, and manage project tasks, stakeholder updates, and issue resolution in partnership with technology and operations teams.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• 10+ years’ experience within Financial Services ideally in Index management/maintenance. In-depth knowledge of handling and managing Fixed Income Securities

• Domain knowledge of various bond types, corporate actions of various asset classes, how to price a bond, calculating Net Asset Value, Accrued Interest , Yield to Maturity, Cumulative Total Return and other stats. Working experience with different vendors- Bloomberg, Reuters, etc

• Strong practical experience of Excel, Visio, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of at least one programming language (C++, R, Python, Alteryx, )

• People Management – candidate review and assessment, performance management, training and development planning, objective setting. Good leadership, influencing & communication skills with the ability to work with others at all levels and across disciplines in a virtual organization.

• Experience in Operations Management, with solid risk and controls awareness. Demonstrated ability to think strategically with respect to data, technology, risk/control and operations agendas. Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and related experience

• Ability to deal with issues on a global, cross business levels. Strong team attitude. Proactive and pragmatic approach - recognized as someone who get things done

• Self-starter, able to work autonomously, under pressure and to fixed deadlines.
