Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorgan Chase's Consumer and Community Banking Risk Technology. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot secure, scalable software solutions, collaborating with product managers, data scientists, ML engineers, and other stakeholders across the SDLC. The position emphasizes Python/PySpark, Big Data, Databricks, cloud experience, automation, continuous delivery, and ML operations, with opportunities to explore cutting-edge GenAI/LLM integrations. Location is Hyderabad, India, and the role requires 5+ years of software engineering experience.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Risk Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, development of creative software solutions, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • collaborates with product managers, data scientists, ML engineers, and other stakeholders over the course of SDLC
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in the latest LLM/GenAI research, implement cutting-edge techniques, and leverage external APIs for enhanced functionality.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Advance level skills in programming languages like Python or Java 
  • Experience with developing /maintaining applications on Public Cloud
  • In-depth Experience with BigData, Spark and Databricks
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience with ML Operations

  • Databricks platform

  • Data security and Privacy controls in Financial Industry
