Lead Software Engineer on JPMorgan Chase's Risk Central Technology team in Bengaluru, responsible for building and delivering trusted market-leading data analytics products in a secure, scalable way. You will consolidate data from multiple firm sources into the big data warehouse, investigate data issues, and develop automation for data extraction. You will design and tune schemas for data landed on the platform and partner with information modeling teams on firmwide data models, serving as the SME for data in the analytics platform. Requires strong coding in Python/Java, ReactJS, SQL, solid CS fundamentals, experience with Hadoop ecosystem, Unix/Linux, and good communication.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Risk Central Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Consolidate data from various firm sources into the big data warehouse.
- Investigate data issues, provide support on data issues.
- Develop automation for data extraction.
- Design and tune schema for data landed on platform
- Partner with information modelling teams on firmwide logical data models.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for data in the analytics platform.
- Develop data quality rules and controls for data
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong hands on coding in Python/Java, ReactJS, SQL
- Strong CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms with good understanding of big data
- Experience with Hadoop data management including technologies like Apache sqoop, SQL, Hive, HBase, Impala to name a few.
- Excellent communication skills are a must for this position
- Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Understanding of data modelling challenges with big data
- Understanding of Financial data especially in front office investment banking is a major plus
- Provide Level 3 (L3) support for production systems, addressing complex issues and ensuring high availability and reliability
- Support BAU (Business As Usual) operations for Markets businesses, leveraging previous experience in similar environments.
- Knowledge of AWS is an added advantage
