As a Software Engineer II on the ATRS Structuring team at JPMorgan Chase you'll build next-generation trade structuring tools and pre-trade frameworks in Python used across Markets and by trading desks globally. This hands-on, delivery-focused role involves system design, coding, testing, and operational support within an agile team working closely with Athena Trade Risk & Services. You will participate in requirements meetings, propose technical solutions, and help evangelize the platform to other development teams. The role requires recent hands-on Python experience, distributed/web application development, and familiarity with building UI or web applications.

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the ATRS Structuring team, you will be building the next generation of trade structuring tools and components needed by teams across Markets and used globally by our trading desks and support teams. This position will work closely with our Athena Trade Risk & Services function, as a member of a highly skilled, agile development team.
We are seeking a dedicated professional who is a team player, self-motivated, and who achieves technological excellence in short timescales.
This is an hands-on, delivery-focused, technical position involving a lot of analysis, coding, testing and interfacing with our end users. A good knowledge of Investment Banking and Markets is highly desirable but a thirst for knowledge and the knack to apply that knowledge is just as good to us. There will be a high degree of teamwork and technical peer interaction involved.

Job Responsibilities:
- Write awesome, high quality Python code following the principles of SOLID, YAGNI and KISS
- Participate in requirements meetings with our users and propose technical solutions
- Evangelize and seek new opportunities for our product to be used by other development teams not already using the platform.
- Complete full lifecycle development projects as well as post-production maintenance and enhancements
- Support other development teams using our components by answering questions, researching system issues, identifying root causes, and resolving problems
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- 2+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Recent, hands-on experience working with Python and Distributed computing / web applications
- Experience building desktop UI or web applications
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
- Experience working in large mono-repo codebases, where code often rolls out to production within minutes
- Familiarity with Investment Banking, FinTech, or Financial Markets
- Experience working with React
- Commitment and drive
- Fluent in English
