As a Software Engineer III on JPMorgan Chase's AI/ML Platform Reliability team, you will design and deliver scalable, secure AI/ML platform solutions from Bengaluru. You will enhance reliability and performance, partner with product engineering, and develop observability, security, and fin-ops tooling. The role involves diagnosing defects, on-call rotations, and owning problems end-to-end with strong communication across stakeholders. The position requires 3+ years of Python programming experience and cloud-native design in AWS, with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the AI/ML & Data Platform team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Develop solutions to enhance the reliability and scalability of AI/ML platforms and applications to accommodate fast growing demands.
- Partner with product engineering teams to ensure the AI/ML systems are reliable and high performing.
- Analyze defects, propose improvements and drive efficiencies in systems and processes.
- Optimize the performance and utilization of AI ML platform and infrastructure
- Develop observability, security and fin-ops tools and orchestration.
- Author and improve the quality of technical engineering documentation
- Debug and solve issues in a production environment
- Participates in on-call rotations and escalation workflows.
- Take full ownership of problems, develop solutions, and acquire new knowledge to complete the task.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Expertise in programming with Python and cutting-edge software engineering practices.
- Experience in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience with developing on Cloud, especially AWS and Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code, tools such as Terraform.
- Systematic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a complex system.
- Excellent communication skills working with stakeholders across the company to design solutions to user problems
- Self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical qualification
- Prior experience working in AI, ML, or Data engineering or container orchestration.
- Prior experience developing Automation frameworks/AI Ops
- Prior experience working on building observability systems
- Experience as an Infrastructure or Platform Software Engineer in a dynamic technology company or startup.
