Role: Principal QA Engineer within LSEG's Content & Feeds Technology. You will lead functional, performance, and data validation testing across diverse technologies, designing project test plans aligned with standards and technology strategy. You will develop, execute and maintain test scripts (manual, automation, performance) and ensure comprehensive test coverage, while coaching peers and promoting continuous improvement. The role is based in Beijing with local and wider team support.

An opportunity exists within LSEG for a Principal QA Engineer role within Content & Feeds Technology.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Principal QA Engineer to join a highly collaborative, cross-functional, software QA team responsible for functional testing, performance testing and data validation across a variety of technologies.

This role will be based in Beijing which will have support both locally and from the wider teams.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Design project test plan to ensure alignment with standards and technology strategy
  • Perform quality control planning and execution activities in alignment with the testing standards and strategy to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified business and customer needs
  • Gathers testing requirements by evaluating the product requirement specifications (functional / non-functional) and raise clarifications with product owners, business analysts and customers
  • Develops, executes and maintains test scripts/cases autonomously– manual, automation, performance etc. Assigns required tests to Associates. Review and analyze completeness of test coverage.
  • Take accountability for delivering reliable work. Support and coach peers and share knowledge openly.
  • Communicates clearly with team and keeps clear lines of communication open to ensure full understanding of tasks, asking questions where needed.
  • Apply structured thinking and data to solve problems, test assumptions, and learn from outcomes. Support team decisions through evidence, insight, and continuous improvement.​

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 8+ years experience in Software QA or Development Engineer role
  • Proven ability to implement test strategies/test plan, including automation, performance, E2E integration, test environment etc
  • In-depth knowledge of Software QA methodologies and experience of agile testing
  • Strong background with test automation
  • Excellent coding skills in Python
  • Skilled in SQL query with RDBMS, e.g, Oracle, SQL Server etc.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, CICD and Git (source code repository)
  • Cloud testing experience (MS Azure, AWS, etc); relevant certificates are preferred
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and TestRail
  • good ability to adapt to changing priorities, experiment with new approaches, and quick learning
  • Good communication and influence skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of financial services and AI experience are a plus
