It contributes to platform maturity, audit readiness, and the overall Identity Governance service.
Role Overview
The Application Onboarding Associate supports the onboarding of applications into SailPoint IdentityNow by gathering pre‑onboarding information, preparing documentation, and assisting with technical deployment activities. Working closely with project teams, senior analysts, application owners, and IT stakeholders, the role ensures consistent application onboarding processes, high‑quality data, and effective transition into BAU operations. This position contributes directly to platform maturity, audit readiness, and the overall success of the Identity Governance service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, validate, and document pre‑onboarding information from application owners and stakeholders.
- Support the assessment and selection of appropriate onboarding methods and connector types (e.g., AD, CSV, API/web services).
- Assist in deploying and configuring applications within SailPoint IdentityNow under the direction of senior analysts.
- Execute Post‑Implementation Testing (PIT) activities including data validation, entitlement verification, and lifecycle checks.
- Perform routine data quality reviews, cleansing, and maintenance to ensure accuracy and integrity of identity data.
- Create or enhance scripts and tools to automate onboarding or data preparation tasks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify new connector requirements, enhancements, and process improvements.
- Provide operational support and knowledge transfer on onboarding processes and standards.
- Generate and analyse onboarding and operational reports to identify trends, risks, and optimisation opportunities.
- Maintain process documentation, configuration notes, and audit evidence in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Stay current on IdentityNow capabilities, industry practices, and emerging Identity Governance technologies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent practical experience in IAM/security operations.
- Hands‑on experience with SailPoint IdentityNow or similar IGA solutions.
- Basic scripting or automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Java, or similar).
- Working knowledge of:
- Active Directory and LDAP concepts
- REST APIs, authentication methods, and data integrations
- CSV‑based data ingestion
- Understanding of identity lifecycle management, access governance, and IAM principles.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data‑quality skills.
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding activities in a project‑driven environment.
- Clear communication skills, with confidence engaging both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to follow standards, learn new technologies, and grow within an IAM/IGA operating model.
Technical Skills
Identity & Access Management (IAM) Fundamentals
- Understanding of joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle processes.
- Familiarity with entitlement models, roles, and access governance concepts.
- Awareness of access certifications and audit requirements.
SailPoint IdentityNow & Application Integration
- Experience or exposure to SailPoint IdentityNow or similar IGA platforms.
- Knowledge of onboarding components such as sources, aggregations, schemas, and entitlement discovery.
- Ability to support onboarding via:
- AD/LDAP connectors
- CSV connectors
- REST API / web services integrations
Technical Foundations
- Understanding of AD groups, accounts, and permissions.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, data flows, authentication, and connectivity fundamentals.
- Basic networking knowledge (ports, protocols, dependencies).
Automation & Scripting
- Ability to adapt or create scripts for data preparation and onboarding automation.
- Comfortable working with structured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML).
Testing, Data Quality & Operations
- Experience performing PIT or functional testing activities.
- Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and identifying data anomalies.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ability to produce onboarding documents, technical notes, and process guides.
- Experience generating operational or audit‑relevant reports.
