Lead design, development, and deployment of complex data pipelines and services for agentic AI and sentiment intelligence at scale. Write high-quality, maintainable code in languages such as C#, Java, or C++, and use Python for automation of data workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, drive architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers. Contribute to Microsoft’s Agentic AI-first sentiment platform powering Copilot and related products across Microsoft 365 and beyond.

Overview

If you’re an engineer eager to build the next generation of agentic AI systems and redefine how Microsoft understands and acts on customer sentiment, we want to hear from you. Your work will shape high-visibility AI investments and empower billions of users worldwide.

Copilots are transforming how we empower people and organizations, and customer sentiment is at the center of building responsible, high-impact AI. The IDEAS Sentiment team powers how product groups across Microsoft 365—including Copilot, Windows, Teams, Outlook, Edge, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more—listen to customers at scale, generate insights, and close the loop.

We are now pushing into a new frontier: agentic AI that can reason, orchestrate tasks, enrich feedback, and autonomously produce actionable insights across millions of signals.

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in agentic AI, LLM systems, modern AI CLI tooling, and scalable cloud architectures. This individual contributor role is designed for an AI expert who will elevate engineering excellence and accelerate our transformation into an Agentic AI-first sentiment intelligence platform.

At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We work with a growth mindset, respect, integrity, and a commitment to inclusion.
