Responsible for managing mission-critical risk and analytical infrastructure supporting real-time data processing and calculation engines for risk and P&L. The role owns post-trade workflows, software deployment, production environment management, and builds automation and observability to prevent and resolve operational issues.

Post-Trade Support Engineer

We're seeking a Post-Trade Support Engineer with deep financial markets expertise to manage mission-critical risk and analytical infrastructure. This role supports real-time data processing platforms and calculation engines that present risk and P&L data. You'll understand the full trade lifecycle and post-trade operations - from market data ingestion through risk calculations and data presentation. Candidates will also be primarily responsible for software deployment and managing the production environment. Our support engineering philosophy centers on intelligent automation and real-time observability.

Principal Responsibilities

  • In this role, the individual is expected to become a subject matter expert for trade workflows, position management, risk aggregation, and price calculation engines
  • Support applications that ingest derivatives pricing data, volatility surfaces, and multi-asset market data
  • Partner with Traders, Quant Developers, and Middle Office teams on operational workflows
  • Identify and automate manual intervention points in critical business processes
  • Build proactive monitoring for data ingestion, calculations, and data integrity with immediate alerting
  • Create self-healing automation and intelligent alerting that predicts issues before they impact users
  • Develop reconciliation automation and early warning systems for data anomalies and processing delays
  • Build comprehensive, searchable documentation and runbooks for human and AI consumption
  • Serve as primary regional contact for escalations on time-sensitive operations
  • Coordinate with global teams to maintain high availability

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • 4+ years in trading technology or financial operations (Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX, or Credit)
  • Deep understanding of trade lifecycle: execution, booking, settlement, and post-trade processes
  • Background in derivatives pricing concepts (Greeks, volatility surfaces, risk sensitivities) - our systems ingest and process this data
  • Experience building monitoring solutions and alerting frameworks
  • Strong SQL, Linux, and Python for automation and data analysis
  • Highly valued: REST APIs, kdb+/q, Redis, Docker, Git, experience with AI-assisted tooling for accelerated troubleshooting
  • Exceptional communication across technical and business audiences with strong prioritization in high-pressure situations

Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position is $165,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
