Senior Platform Engineer responsible for designing, developing, operating, and supporting a highly available enterprise content management platform (Alfresco) and Google Workspace integrations. Role combines hands-on Python development, platform operations, and technical leadership including design documentation, code reviews, and mentoring. Provides Level 3 production support with on-call duties, customer engagement, troubleshooting across the application stack, and collaboration on upgrades and vendor escalations.

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Platform Engineer responsible for designing, developing, operating, and supporting a highly available enterprise content management (ECM) platform based on Alfresco and Google Workspace. This role combines strong hands-on software engineering with platform operations, customer engagement, and technical leadership.

What you'll do in the role:

Engineering & Development

  • Design, develop, and test content management solutions, integrations, and custom components using Python (primary) and Java (secondary).

  • Produce high-quality technical design documents and lead design discussions.

  • Create, enhance, and maintain tools, modules, and automation scripts to support system integration and platform operations.

  • Perform code reviews, contribute to engineering best practices, and mentor team members.

Platform & Infrastructure

  • Deploy, configure, and support on-premises private cloud environments for the Alfresco ECM platform.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date repositories of architecture documents, release notes, configuration standards, and operational runbooks.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across the application stack (web servers, application servers, integrations, databases, authentication).

  • Collaborate with vendor engineering support on escalations, patching, and product upgrades.

Operations, Support & Customer Engagement

  • Provide Level 3 production support, including participation in an on-call rotation (approx. 1 week every 5 weeks).

  • Engage directly with internal customers to investigate, diagnose, and resolve customer-reported issues.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex customer problems, collaborating with L2 support, infrastructure, and security teams.

  • Deliver clear communication to customers on issue status, root-cause findings, and resolution plans.

  • Analyze trends in customer-reported problems to drive platform improvements, defect fixes, and preventive measures.

  • Review existing workflows and processes and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security through proactive monitoring and enhancements.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • At least 6 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.

  • 3+ years hands on development experience with Python and working knowledge of Java.

  • 3+ years experience with Tomcat and Apache web servers for hosting enterprise applications.

  • 3+ years experience with Linux systems, including troubleshooting, shell scripting, and automation.

  • Strong proficiency with relational databases (preferably Microsoft SQL Server) and SQL queries.

  • Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle is a plus.

  • Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Podman, Kubernetes)is a plus

  • Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
