Lead the 3D Perception & Simulation team within NVIDIA's Isaac Engineering, guiding robotics software and applied research engineers. Drive definition, planning, and execution of projects on 3D reconstruction, robot learning, and robot simulation tools, enabling at-scale policy learning and benchmarking. Collaborate across Isaac teams and with product, hardware, and software groups to deploy and validate capabilities on physical robots and large-scale simulations. Foster innovation and career development while delivering prototypes, open-source contributions, patents, and publications.

We are in the midst of a revolution where artificial intelligence is helping us accelerate all aspects of our lives. NVIDIA's mission is to accelerate this revolution. By combining NVIDIA's strengths in simulation (Omniverse), world models (Cosmos), foundation models (GR00T), and compute, we strive to bring general intelligence to robots.

NVIDIA is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our 3D Perception & Simulation team within the Isaac Engineering team! You will lead a group of world-class robotics software and applied research engineers focused on advancing robotics 3D perception and simulation frameworks for at-scale policy learning and benchmarking, shaping the future of physical AI!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of robotics software and applied research engineers focused on 3D perception and simulation.

  • Drive the definition, planning, and execution of projects involving 3D reconstruction, robot learning, and robot simulation tools.

  • Guide the team in advancing spatial intelligence and its integration in VLA developments.

  • Hands-on design, implementation, and deployment of novel algorithms for 3D perception, simulation and real-world environments.

  • Collaborate & support other Isaac teams including Sim/Lab, Platform and SQA to deploy, validate, and extend the capabilities & features on physical robots as well as on at-scale simulations.

  • Ensure effective integration, validation and releases of applied research efforts in collaboration with research teams and on top of NVIDIA’s advanced robotics platforms.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, supporting deliverables such as prototypes, open source software contributions, patents, and publications.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, hardware, and software teams to translate engineering work into impactful products.

  • Support career development, performance management, and recruitment of top talent.

What we need to see:

  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ overall years of experience working on robotics and deep learning technologies.

  • 4+ overall years of experience in technical leadership or team management in robotics, autonomous driving, machine learning, or related domains.

  • Strong hands-on programming skills in Python and/or C++; experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow) and physics simulation tools (Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced knowledge in robot learning, including imitation or reinforcement learning, and robot perception.

  • Experience with robot simulation tools.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Leadership in projects involving foundation models for robotics, including Vision-Language-Action (VLA) or Vision-Language Models (VLM).

  • Experience with large-scale model training on GPU clusters.

  • Hands-on experience on robotics simulation, sim-to-real and real-to-sim transfer.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 3, and 272,000 USD - 431,250 USD for Level 4.
