The Action Camera Image Quality System Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of image quality to showcase balance Image Quality (IQ) metrics for Action Cameras. The role involves aspects such as color, white balance, texture, noise, details, tone/exposure, resolution, and subjective artifacts optimization, and include both objective and subjective IQ evaluations.
Job Overview
Image quality tuning and optimization for camera ISP, some of tuning experience in color, noise reduction, HDR or tone algorithms. Develop image quality evaluation systems to measure IQ metrics for various camera applications.
The selected candidate, along with his/her colleagues and other team members, will have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:
(1) Capable of performing end-to-end image quality verification, evaluating solutions by balancing power and image quality, and analyzing features from sensors or ISV providers.
(2) Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and other departments, demonstrating strong analytical skills and clear communication to accomplish tasks effectively.
(3) Conduct lab and field testing (objective and subjective) to evaluate image quality, behavior, and performance.
(4) Generate image quality evaluation reports and communicate findings to improve IQ features.
(5) 60%–80% workload for customer support; 20% onsite availability for business travel across APAC and China.
Minimum Qualifications
Overall, the candidate needs to be experienced in the areas of embedded firmware/software development. More specifically, the selected candidate should:
(1) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
(2) Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
(3) PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
(4) Experience in camera ISP tuning and image signal processing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience required in following areas but not limited to
(1) Familiarity with both objective and subjective image quality assessment methodologies.
(2) Experience with Snapdragon ISP is a plus.
(3) Background in image processing algorithms, image sensor characteristics, and optical system design.
(4) Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, or Python.
(5) Some understanding of AI/machine learning-based image algorithms is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
