The Red Hat Ecosystems Engineering group in Pune is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing team that builds certification tooling integration and development for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat AI platforms. You will collaborate with Product Engineering and Product Management to ensure integration and feature development of high-quality tools for partners and developers. The role involves certification policy integration and tests, validating hardware compatibility, and delivering continuous integration and feature enhancements with automated test software packaged as RPMs and container images.

About the Job:

The Red Hat Ecosystems Engineering group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team in Pune, India. In this role, you will work with a diverse team of highly motivated engineers on certification tooling integration and development supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat’s AI platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with the Product Engineering and Product Management teams to ensure integration and feature development of high-quality, technically polished tools for partners and developers.

What you will do?

  • Research and collaborate on the integration and development of certification policies with subject matter experts and product managers for advanced hardware systems and components supporting Red Hat AI platforms

  • Assist with integration and development of certification tests to verify enablement of Red Hat partner’s hardware systems and components with RHEL and Red Hat’s AI platforms

  • Test advancing Red Hat AI platforms utilizing pytorch, vLLM and performance monitoring tools

  • Work with Red Hat’s partners to certify hardware compatibility in RHEL for key features such as networking, storage, and GPU acceleration of AI applications

  • Deliver continuous integration and feature enhancements in an agile framework producing automated test software packaged as RPMs and container images

What you will bring?

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience

  • Strong experience with RHEL or other Linux distributions

  • Experience with hardware integration and support in Linux

  • Experience with building and running containers

  • Some experience in Python software development and best practices

  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Technical leadership acumen in a global team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English language skills

The following is considered a plus:

  • Recent hands on experience with distributed computation, either at the end-user or infrastructure provider level

  • Background in DevOps or site reliability engineering (SRE)

  • Experience with performance analysis tools

  • Experience with Linux kernel development

  • Experience with hardware accelerators (e.g., GPUs, FPGAs) for AI workloads is a plus

  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and frameworks (classifiers, pytorch, tensorflow etc) is a plus
